This COVID-19 has been nothing short of insane. It is highlighting how capitalism and individualism are unsustainable, and it’s making people become more class conscious.
It has been very easy to see the chaos and feel helpless. Luckily, we live in a digital age where internet is available to most people (not really rural or people in poverty; that’s a rant), so we are able to collaborate digitally.
I’ve put together resources and digital political actions. As more resources and actions come through, I will gather it all here — continuously.
Resources
The Houston Tip Jar allows members of the community to #AdoptAServer or #AdoptABartender. Service workers don’t even get minimum wage, let alone paid leave. The tweet above allows service workers to submit their information. The tweet below disseminates the information for people to help support the local service worker community.
Local Actions
Food Not Bombs — Houston has been at the forefront of taking care of the homeless community. As shelters and organizations close down, the city has not responded on how they will take care of the community. Now, more than ever, Food Not Bombs — Houston needs donations and hands on deck to help those displaced.
